What if you had a second chance?

Satoshi Nakamoto is often credited with saying, "It might make sense to get some in case it catches on." Many people wish they could have been mining Bitcoin since 2009. Absent a working time machine, this is the best chance at a second chance that we can provide.

Back to First Principles

A new Proof of Work cryptocurrency built purely on the founding principles of Satoshi Nakamoto's original Bitcoin protocol.

A Sister Chain, Not a Competitor

BitcoinII is built on the security principles and technology that has proven itself for the past 16 years. The intent is not to compete with, nor attempt to replace Bitcoin, but to become a "Sister Chain" that appeals to "Maxis" and "Newcomers" alike. We encourage people to continue to support Bitcoin and its developers. BitcoinII is offered as an accompaniment to their efforts.

While Bitcoin (BTC) continues to be a long term investment vehicle, perhaps BitcoinII (BC2) can provide an instrument to be used more freely for day-to-day purchases, by implementing the same proven and familiar technology that millions around the world have grown to understand and trust.

The Technology

Familiar, proven, and secure. Click a card to flip for more info.

PoW Algorithm: SHA256

Uses the same battle-tested hashing algorithm as Bitcoin, ensuring robust security and a proven track record.

Max Supply: 21,000,000

A fixed, finite supply, just like Bitcoin, guaranteeing scarcity and protecting against inflation.

Difficulty Retargeting

The network difficulty adjusts every 2016 blocks, ensuring block times remain consistent as hashrate changes.

Subsidy Halving

The mining reward is cut in half every 210,000 blocks (~4 years), following Bitcoin's deflationary model.

New Genesis Block

BitcoinII starts with a brand new blockchain. It is not a fork of the existing Bitcoin chain, providing a fresh start for everyone.

Difficulty Restart at 1

The mining difficulty began at the lowest possible level, opening up mining to standard consumer hardware from day one.

The Power of Community

The future is in your hands. The BitcoinII project needs volunteers: Node Operators, DNS Seed Server Operators, Miners, and more. If you would like to volunteer, reach out to us down below!
